Some Parents Do Not Want Children To Hear The President Encourage Them To Learn

by J-One Royal Fam

This time next week, President Obama wants to address the nations schoolchildren as they return for the 2009-10 school year. It is reported that he wants to encourage them, as they start this new year, to reach their goals and to strive for more. He wants to let the children know, as young as they may be, that education is important, and he wants to show them he is going to do his part. But some parents do not think so.It has also been reported that many parents don't even want their children to attend school that day for two reasons: (1) The President is going to address them while there is still a heated debate on health care and (2) The Department of Education issued a letter to all schools saying that their students will write a letter to themselves about how they are going to help the President. Parents are saying that they don't want their children to be "indoctrinated in the ways of socialism."

WHAT???
I must admit, while I was in school, I didn't care to much about it at all. I almost didn't even graduate. But now, being someone who thrives off of research and truth-seeking information, education is more important now more than ever. Not just to me but for the country, the WORLD. Now that we have a Presidential family who wants to be an example for why education is important...parents want to take children out of school because "I don't want my children to deal with politics."

Come on!!!

Before I get emotional about this, having two small children of my own...lets dig into the logic behind this.

The President wants to talk to school children to encourage them to do well if not more than that. Parents don't even want their children present, which also means they will not participate in the written assignment. So....basically, parents don't want our most prestigious elected official to spend some camera time with the "future" of our nation, because they don't want them to be indoctrinated in a form of government that most people have no clue as to what it is, and then to write about it. As well as the notion that they don't want them involved with politics, which was not apart of the address.

Seems to me that some parents need to go back to school, and when they do go to detention for being stupid. In a time where education is the key to even getting a minimum wage job, it is ignorant and just plain asinine to take your child out of school for this. I wish they taught politics more in school. That way by the time they were adults and say an issue about, I don't know, health care came up, they could make informed decisions and have informed discussions about the matter. Instead of what we've seen the past few months where baseless and illogical reasoning is the basis for the heat in the arguments for and against.

I guess the parents of 2009 want their children to be as ignorant and non-educated as they are so they can mold them to be just like them in mind and occupation. I bet those children of those parents can teach them a thing or two about politics, foreign policy, health care and the economy. I bet those children have a lot more to bring to the table besides macaroni artwork, but you will never know that because you don't want them to be in school during the most crucial time in our country.

Thank you Mr. President for showing interest in our nations students. Thank you for attempting to let them know they matter and will matter. Shame on you parents who want to "censor" and stifle your children's education because of the lack of your own.

I was being nice about this too!

J.R. Junior Says...
First off, I’d like to say that obtaining a bachelor’s, master’s, or even a doctorate degree does not automatically earn you the title of “smart”. Smart is an acknowledgement of a higher level of critical thinking; reason and logic. To actually display and exercise your title of smart, you must do or say things of great intellect. A good way to measure a person’s level of smartness is to gather the clues given to you through their monologue, dialogue, and argument.

It is easy for someone to argue against one of my views, and is still viewed as smart to me. The problem is that people with no smarts (as I observed) attempt to use a smart man’s domain, the argument arena, to convey a thought that has no intellectual backing. This equals being against or for a cause based on irrational thinking.

So, the experts, superintendents, principals, teachers, even congressmen and women, and all the other folks on down are arguing a point with no solid foundation, and introducing irrational as reasoning minus the reason. If I tell you I am going to talk about football, would you stop me from doing that because you believe that I will denounce your religion in the conversation? Would you tell me that I’m not the person to talk to you about football because I don’t practice your particular religion? No? So, why are we doing this to our nation’s president? Because, you don’t like him as a person for whatever reasons, his view of health care reform, or his take on foreign affairs and immigration, don’t rob our children of an opportunity to be pushed in the right direction. Is graduating high school not a good direction? Is taking advantage of a system that gives you a great wealth of knowledge not a good direction?

So, I understand, some people are against a president pushing a “socialistic” agenda. Isn’t going to school from K-12 for free to learning institutions ran by the government and funded by tax dollars “socialism”? Are you against socialism? Are you against children learning? If your answers to the two preceding questions are different; that is one is yes and one is no, you are not smart enough to argue the issue, so shut your goddamn mouths now and allow the real thinkers to take over for you.

What they are doing is using “fear” words to provoke fear in you and me to ultimately fear President Obama, so you and I, too, can be against anything he does or attempts to do. The people who created this tactic are smart. The ones who are coerced into this imaginary ideology are not.

Fearing that someone will push political agendas on little children is obsurd. Especially when it is a man of politics who realized the ramifications of influencing kids and shaping their view of the world politically. Barack Obama would not do that. He is smart. I know some of you will try to twist this and say If it was a Bush doing this, we would be in an uproar. Wrong. The Bushes did it. Papa Bush did it twice; once as vice-president and once as president two years later. George W., actually, went to an elementary school and talked to little kids with shaping minds about a bill-yes, a bill- that he wanted to pass through congress. He is not smart. If you actually are against Obama’s speech, and you have made it this far into this post, I commend you and feel you may not be like George W, and may actually be smart. A person of intellect will actually take the time to consider opposing views. So, thank god that the absolute dummies are gone. You who oppose who chose to continue to read, do me a favor. Give the dummies some actual substance to back their arguments. If you choose to allow or use their ignorance as one of your tools to attack the leader of this country based on lies, deceit, misinformation, fear, and outright hate, you are just like them… Stupid!

What message are we sending to the children? Education is not important enough for our own president, a symbol of freedom and equality, to talk about the importance of education. We are telling them that a man who was elected by the citizens of “the world’s greatest democracy” isn’t entitled to lead the country that elected him to power. We are saying Democracy is wrong, and if someone has a view other than yours, you demonize him even if he is our "ambassador to the world."

And, how does the world see this? I know how they see it, because daily I talk to people from different parts of the world from Nigeria to Pakistan, to India, to Japan, from eastern to western Europe, and Georgia (that’s Georgia, the country not the U.S. State for the uneducated). They say that the country that is supposed to be the moral authority of and gereatest model of democracy for the world uses their freedoms and own democracy to create robot citizens who don’t think on their own to make up the democracy. The U.S. is supposed to be the entity that stabilizes the world, and she, herself, is not stable.
To sum it up, It’s much bigger than education, but education is the issue. We are the ones who need to be educated, and not through schools but through our own research and awareness. And, I feel this education talk with children is pointless. I will not work, even if the talk is politically charged. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to some. I graduated the D.A.R.E. program after years of “education”, and I still used drugs along with many other D.A.R.E. graduates. It wasn’t until I actually saw and was aware of the actual effects of drugs that I scaled back (Scaled back… HaHa.). Barack Obama’s talk would be a great example of what education can bring you. If you are educated, you can become the most powerful, and most loved person in the world (Hey, it just might work.); as well as the most hated in your country. Period. Wake Up And Smell The B.S.
